Well...? In short - I am!
When I was small (for those of you who know me, yes, smaller than I am now!) I dreamt of being a dancer on Top of the Pops - showing my age now! As I got a little older, I wanted to be an interior designer... (I’d still love to do that) I used to drive my Mum mad constantly moving the furniture around in my bedroom! Basically, I have always been creative. I like to make things look aesthetically pleasing and bring a smile to somebody’s face as a produce of that.
These days, those ‘things’ are people's businesses. And just like their homes, they are proud of what they have achieved - whether that be a multi-million pound corporate company or the balls to leave their 9-5 and set out on their own start-up venture. And I love to bring their visions to life. From a company logo to a recognisable brand and everything in between... I am proud to be a part of that journey and to be able to design something that they can be proud to use when showcasing their business.
My start-up began almost 6 years ago when I decided I needed more flexibility. To leave the administration behind (little did I know... But that’s a whole other story for another time!) and focus on my skill set - design. It dawned on me that I could be a single parent with a career I loved not just a job to pay the bills. Not only that, but maybe, just maybe, I could actually pull it off and be something! Be me!
Back then, as a single mother to my beautiful daughter Paige, I needed to be able to juggle life; the school plays and assemblies, sick bugs and school holidays! We needed life to work for us, as much as I had to work for our life.
Paige was my ‘why’ - she was my reason for everything and that still rings true today! The time she was born is the name of my business (2:22pm). With the addition of her baby brother Elliott and my partner in Crime Bradley, they give me the motivation every day to better myself, to better our lives and prove to the world what I can do!
I am proud of what I have achieved so far, but the sky’s the limit! And with my team by my side, we will be bringing some exciting new design services later this year. Watch this space!
